Saturday  mornings 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LOCATION:

The Oldham County Library is located north of the courthouse in Vega at 914 Main Street.

FEATURES:

The library features public access computers for email, research, games, etc.  One computer is programmed in Spanish.

The library hosts more than 12,000 books.  The librarians are very knowledgeable, resourceful and helpful.  They can often find topics in the library's many resource books faster than people can on the Internet.  Working closely with our schools, the library helps students by  providing needed resource material and books.

The Oldham County Library is networked with other Panhandle Libraries.  This allows you to use your Oldham County Library card to check out books in the Amarillo Public Library and other area libraries.  Also, the Oldham County Library can access books from these other libraries.

Archives of local history  --  The library works closely with the Oldham County Historical Commission in collecting and preserving local history.  The collections include:  vintage photographs, maps, family histories and genealogies, personal memoirs, area school annuals, abstracts, writings of early historians, video, cemetery records, and much more pertaining to the history of the area.  They continually seek other items to add to these archives.
